Smith Rock State Park, located just a miles from Bend Oregon, is one of the most beuatiful places to visit in Oregon. Whenever I am there, I seem to forget that I am still in my home state. Since my first trip, I knew I had to photograph a couple here. I was so thrilled when the opportunity presented itself 6 months later. Kori & Aric had recently moved from Portland to Bend, and had not yet had the chance to explore the area yet. When they arrived on location, they were in absolute awe of its bueaty.

I have been wanting to photograph a couple at Cape Kiwanda, in Pacific City Oregon, for as long as I can remember. I first visited many years ago, and it seems so out of place compared to other parts of the Oregon Coast. I truly believe it is one of the most beautiful places in Oregon. I was so excited when I spoke with Lauren about this session and they were completely down for the adventure! This was the first location that came to mind, and she quickly agreed!

The day of the session, I met up with these two for a beer and pizza before we started shooting. I hadn’t had a chance to meet them beforehand, and I really like to get to know my couples and their stories before we work together. Aside from being two of the coolest people I have ever met, these guys have such an adorable story! I don’t meet a lot of couples who have known each other since they were 14 years old. The two met their freshman year of high school. After 7 years of close friendship, Ryan finally decided to ask Lauren out on a date. Two weeks later, they moved in together. Two years later they purchased their first home. They are just about to celebrate 5 years together and have become parents to two fantastic puppies 🙂 One thing that became really clear during our time together is that these two are the best of friends.

We had every type of weather possible during this session! Rain, clouds, blue skies, and WIND (I love it) all in one! It was so much fun working with these two. So happy to have taken this adventure with them!
