When Jenna, Michael and I were discussing locations for their engagement session, I knew Hoyt Arboretum would be the perfect backdrop. Located just outside downtown Portland Oregon, this location is the perfect location for a “forest” vibe in photos. This was the first time I photographed at Hoyt Arboretum and it definitely will not be the last! We knew that we wanted to have a PNW vibe to their session, I don’t think we could have picked a better spot in the Portland area.
Let’s talk about Michael and Jenna! Holy moly did these two nail their engagement session! They recently moved to Portland from the Bay Area, and were so much fun to photograph. I met them at a local wedding show (if you haven’t already connected to The Art of Weddings Portland, I highly suggest you do!), and I hit it off with them instantly. Michael and Jenna have a modern day love story, meeting online back in San Francisco. Michael appreciated how simple it was getting to know Jenna, and Jenna was excited that Michael looked like his profile photos! One of their favorite things to do as a couple is explore good restaurants! These two knew of restaurants in the Portland area that I have never heard of!
I am so excited to photograph Michael and Jenna’s wedding in just a few short weeks from now at Union Pine! One of the many reasons I love to photograph engagement sessions is because I get to learn so much about a couple before their wedding day.
