I’m Lindsay, A Portland Lifestyle Newborn Photographer.

As a mom of two teenagers, I know how quickly these early years pass and how cherished every moment is. I began my journey as a newborn photographer in Portland 14 years ago with my second baby. Starting in an in-home studio, I offered posed newborn sessions for a few years before discovering the lifestyle approach, which truly captured the heart of family life. I love documenting your family in real, everyday moments with a natural and thoughtful style, so years from now you can look back and remember the life you are living right now.

From quiet snuggles and gentle cuddles to those quick newborn smiles and the smallest details, each image reflects what this season feels like, helping you hold onto these moments long after they’ve passed.

My Approach

My approach to newborn photography is rooted in a baby led, documentary style. Rather than focusing on poses or perfect setups, I follow your baby’s natural rhythm and allow moments to unfold as they happen. There is no pressure for your baby to sleep or behave a certain way.

I gently guide you when needed, but the heart of each session is connection. The quiet soothing, the in between moments, and the way your family naturally interacts all come together to tell your story. This approach allows me to create images that feel honest, relaxed, and true to this season of your life.

Newborn Photography Pricing

Each newborn session is designed to inlcude:

  • A consultation call prior to booking to go over session details and answer any questions
  • Wardrobe and styling guidance to help you feel confident and comfortable
  • A “baby led session experience”
  • Gentle guidance and direction throughout your session to create authentic, connected images
  • A thoughtfully edited gallery that tells the story of your early days with your newborn, delivered within three weeks of your session

Newborn sessions are $750.

A 50% nonrefundable retainer is due at booking to reserve your date on my calendar. The remaining balance is due the day of your session.

Lifestyle newborn photography captures and documents real unscripted moments in the early days of bringing your newborn home. Sessions take place in the comfort of your home and focus on family connections as well as all the little details that uniquely tell the story of this special time in your life.

Posed newborn photography typically involves props, setups, and sometimes visiting a photographer’s studio. These sessions often include the photographer carefully positioning the baby into different poses as well as arranging family members when they are in the shots. Lifestyle newborn photography, on the other hand, encourages natural interaction in real time while also allowing for gentle guidance and direction in the client’s home.

Absolutely! I will provide gentle guidance and direction during the session to create natural, authentic interactions and unscripted moments. You will look amazing!

Simple, neutral clothing works best. Coordinating outfits with soft colors keep the focus on your family and your baby.

Newborn sessions should be scheduled a few months before your due date to make sure I can reserve a spot for you. I will add your due date to my calendar as a placeholder and to prevent overscheduling. If you have any last-minute requests, you are always welcome to reach out and I will do my best to accommodate you.

Easy! Just email me here know when you are ready to book, and I will send you my contract and collect 50% of the session fee. I will hold your due date in my calendar and then you can reach out to me once your baby has arrived to set the actual session date.

Lifestyle newborn photography offers a more relaxed timeline since we are not depending on keeping your baby asleep or maintaining flexibility for certain poses. That being said, newborns change quickly. I recommend scheduling your session around two weeks after birth, but sessions can be done anytime within the first month.

Yes! You will be sent an online gallery with fully edited images where you can download and print wherever you would like.
