Boudoir doesn’t have to be soft and romantic. It can be bold, dramatic, confident, and a little bit edgy.

This Oregon studio boudoir session was all about embracing that side of boudoir photography. With a darker mood, intentional posing, and a focus on confidence, we created a collection of images that felt strong, intimate, and completely personal.

An Edgier Take on Boudoir Photography

One of my favorite things about boudoir photography is that there isn’t one right way for it to look.

Every woman who steps in front of my camera brings her own personality and energy to the session. My job is to create photographs that reflect that rather than putting everyone into the same poses or aesthetic.

For this session, we leaned into something a little more edgy. The goal wasn’t to create images that felt overly posed or predictable, but photographs with attitude and personality.

The studio environment gave us a simple setting where we could really focus on the light, movement, expression, and posing.

You Don’t Need to Know How to Pose

If you’ve never had professional boudoir photos taken before, the idea of posing can feel intimidating.

I get it.

Most of my clients aren’t models, and they don’t walk into their session knowing exactly what to do in front of a camera. You don’t need to.

I guide you through the entire session, from the first pose to the last. I’ll show you how to position your body, where to put your hands, how to move, and how to make small adjustments that make a big difference in the final photograph.

My goal is for you to feel comfortable enough to stop thinking about the camera and start enjoying the experience.

The Studio Experience

One of the things I love about photographing boudoir in a studio is the ability to keep the environment simple and focused.

There aren’t a lot of distractions. We can concentrate on creating beautiful light and finding poses that flatter your body and feel natural.
